Edward
J. Adamic was born in Cañon City, Colorado in 1945 the descendant of European
grandparents who settled in the area in the late 1800's. He began to draw,
paint and dance at a very early age. As a student in Cañon City High School
his work was exhibited and placed both first and second at Colorado States
Fairs, and placed third nationally. Adamic went on to attend Western State
College in Gunnison Colorado and continued his art studies at Pittsburgh
State University in Kansas. It was there he became heavily involved in theatre
with a summer stock program. Edward has since returned to Cañon City primarily
doing paintings of the beautiful Colorado scenery where he often works on
site. Edward works in all mediums, yet he is most known for his work in
pastels. Edward is an dynamic element of the artistic convergence in Cañon
City. He has been engaged by the Royal Gorge Route as Chief Commentator
since it's inaugural excursion in 1999. Inspired by the natural beauty of
the gorge Edward began painting a series of Gorge Works currently exhibited

of Cañon Cities first Art Cooperative the "oAc" in which his serves as mentor
to budding artists. His paintings are part of the permanent collection Fremont
Center for the Arts. All of these fine Galleries are located in the Art
District on 5th Street in Cañon City. Art Consultant to the Holy Cross Abbey
Winery in Cañon City; Edwards work can be seen on the silver award winning
labels of the Bronze award winning Artists Series on the sauvignon blanc
and upon the walls of the winery's fine tasting room. Edward is currently
a collaborator with the "Over The River Project" with Christo and Jeanne
Claude. He is truly a valuable advantage to the growth of the arts in Cañon
